About the presentation: How does bird migration unfold along Florida's west central coast? Long-time birding expert Ron Smith will explain exactly how weather conditions and habitat dependency play a major role in bird migration. He'll share 40 years’ worth of experiences at Fort De Soto Park (located at the southern tip of St. Petersburg) and explain what to look for before you decide to go birding during the migration season.

About the speaker: Ron Smith and his wife, Lori, have birded all across the United States in the past 40 years, having recorded birds in all the lower 48 states and also within all of Florida's 67 counties. He has led over 400 birding trips across Florida and has written two books on the birds of Pinellas County and as well as one on the butterflies of Pinellas County. His recent move to Hernando County has been a challenge and a new learning experience. He takes on that challenge every day.
