This is a joint trip of Hernando Chapter Florida Native Plant Society and Hernando Audubon. This trip was planned to enjoy and identify the fall flowers within the sandhill habitat as well as resident and migratory birds. Along the 1.5-mile trail we expect to see American Kestrel, Eastern Bluebird, hawks, woodpeckers, and other woodland bird species. And we’ll be looking around our feet to notice native plants.
Please note regarding parking: Because the parking lot at Perry Oldenburg is very small, we urge folks to meet at 7:45 a.m. at Chinsegut Conservation Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, and carpool from there.
There is no restroom or drinking water at Perry Oldenburg.
