National Audubon Society
The society's community-based nature centers and chapters, scientific and educational programs, and advocacy on behalf of areas sustaining important bird populations, engage millions of people of all ages and backgrounds in positive conservation experiences.

Audubon of Florida
Currently in its second century, Audubon of Florida is the Florida state office of National Audubon Society.  The AOF mission is to preserve, protect and restore Florida's birds, wildlife, and habitat.

Ahhochee Hill Sanctuary
This Audubon of Florida sanctuary is on 240 acres of donated land, just north of Brooksville. To honor the donor's wishes, access is available only to groups.  Check its website for contact information.

Citrus County Audubon Society
Audubon chapter immediately to the north offers many interesting eco-walks and informative programs.

West Pasco Audubon
Serves communities in West Pasco County and Tarpon Springs.  Meets at the J.B. Starkey Wilderness Park.

Hernando Native Plant Society
The society's purpose is the preservation, conservation, and restoration of the native plants and native plant ecosystems.  Local outreach and education is an important part of their mission.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission - Chinsegut Conservation Center
The CCC provides educational programs for children and adults throughout the year.  A unique and valuable resource in our area!

Withlacoochee State Forests
Composed of various tracts, this is currently the third largest state forest in Florida.  Its various habitats support a great variety of birds, including endangered species such as the Red-cockaded Woodpecker and the Florida Scrub-Jay.

The Gulf Coast Conservancy
A not-for-profit local land trust which promotes natural resource preservation through public education and acquisition of sensitive areas by public agencies.



St. Petersburg Audubon Society
Promotes and provides environmental education and, through responsible activism, protects, preserves and restores natural ecosystems for both people and wildlife.

Hernando County Environmentally Sensitive Lands
Hernando County's environmentally sensitive lands support prime examples of ecological communities native to Hernando County; support exceptional biodiversity; are feasible to manage; are threatened by development.

Dade Battlefield Historic State Park
Located kn Bushnell, Sumter County, the park offers programs about local culture and natural history.

The Hummer/Bird Study Group
Nonprofit organization dedicated to the study and preservation of hummingbirds and other birds.

The Florida Bluebird Society
This nonprofit works to protect Bluebirds and other federally protected cavity-nesters through educational programs and the collection and dissemination of science-based information.

The Florida Ornithological Society
The society advances ornithology in Florida, supports research and education about birds, and unites amateurs and professionals in the study of wild birds.

Operation Migration
